Dolph Federico
Owner & Founder | Pelican Events & Film Set Services

Dolph Federico, a New Orleans native, has built a remarkable career spanning multiple industries, from law enforcement and radio to live event production and film services. Born and raised in the vibrant culture of New Orleans, he attended Brother Martin High School and the University of New Orleans, where his work ethic was forged during his time as a commercial shrimper while in high school and college.

Federico’s professional journey began in the broadcasting world, where he honed his skills at several prominent FM radio stations, including WRNO, WCKW, WLTS, and WTKL. However, his next chapter saw him dedicate over a decade to law enforcement, where he served in a variety of roles—patrol, investigations, Field Training Officer (FTO), SWAT team member, and certified hostage negotiator. His time in law enforcement earned him numerous commendations and shaped his disciplined, high-pressure approach to future endeavors.

Pelican Events Was Founded

In 2001, Dolph founded Pelican Events, initially as a music and festival production company. Under his leadership, Pelican Events grew into the largest privately-owned festival producer in the South, producing over 200 events annually. With a keen eye for innovation, Dolph introduced new techniques in mobile staging and event branding that have become industry standards today.

As the Louisiana film industry began to take shape, Dolph saw an opportunity to apply his SWAT-trained mindset and live production expertise to film services. This resulted in significant advancements to film location services throughout the state. Within five years, Pelican had achieved 100% market share for on-location production services in Louisiana, providing essential equipment like restrooms, generators, and HVAC systems to productions across the state.

A recognized leader in Louisiana’s film industry, Dolph is an active board member of Film Louisiana and has played a pivotal role in advocating for the Louisiana Film Tax Credit program. His tireless efforts earned him the distinction of 2022 Louisiana Film Industry Person of the Year, an award that recognizes his relentless work to protect and enhance the state’s film industry.

Dolph’s Community Leadership And Family Man

Dolph’s dedication extends beyond business, as he serves as an active member of the Louisiana Irish-Italian Parade Board of Directors and was honored as the Italian Grand Marshal in 2016. He is also the president of the Gabriel Homeowners Association and serves on the board of the Take a Kid Fishing Foundation.

A passionate family man, Dolph resides in the New Orleans metro area with his wife, Casie, and their three children, where he continues to advocate for the growth and prosperity of both his community and the industries he supports.
